Several flights have been delayed at Muscat International Airport (MIA), following a flash strike by at least 200 ground services department staff demanding extra allowances and leave, Muscat Daily has reported. "Apart from delay in departure, baggage of arriving passengers weren't transferred to the conveyor belts, leaving passengers stranded for a couple of hours," an Oman Air official requesting anonymity told the daily. The striking workers included baggage handlers and drivers. "It was a bit chaotic and even some of the counter staff joined the strike," the official said.
