Local firm submits price of $1.4m
Charilaos Apostolides is the low bidder for a contract to carry out civil work on Bahrain’s 2007-2011 transmission development programme.
The Bahraini company bid BD523,000 ($1.4m) for the contract, which covers the extension of 66kV and 220kV substations.
It was one of three bidders for the deal. All the companies were local.
They include M&I Construction, which submitted a price of BD558,990 and Poulladies Construction Company, which priced the work at BD777,000.
The client is the Electricity & Water Authority.
The authority is also currently evaluating eight technical bids for the consultancy contract on the country’s planned 400kV transmission project. The winning bidder will complete a feasibility study and define the scale of the the new 400kV network.
