Chase is on for Infrastructure II

Companies submitted bids by the 5 November deadline for the $1,500 million US Agency for International Development (USAID) Infrastructure II reconstruction contract. Among the bidders are Parsons Corporation,Bechteland Washington Groupwith Black & Veatch, all of the US, and a joint venture between the US' Fluor Danieland the UK's Amec.

About 80 per cent of the contract's value is for the restoration and upgrade of electricity, potable water and sanitation infrastructure (MEED 10:10:03).

Many of the contractors interested in the USAID contract are also preparing to bid by the 8 December deadline for up to 10 indefinite duration, indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) reconstruction contracts worth up to $15,000 million over the next five years (MEED 10:10:03).
