Local developer Damac Properties has awarded Beijing-based China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) a AED72m ($20m) infrastructure contract for its Akoya Oxygen development.

The contract covers road and general infrastructure works at three clusters – Victoria, Avencia and Amargo –providing access and services for 1,623 villas.

In March, Damac awarded Emirates Falcon Electromechanical Company (Efeco) a AED424m ($116m) contract for mechanical, electrical and plumbing works at its Akoya Oxygen development in Dubai.

The contract covers work on three clusters within the Akoya Oxygen development. They are 329 units in Mimosa, 419 units in Basswood and 168 units in Amazonia.

Efeco is a subsidiary of the local Arabtec, which was awarded a AED628m contract by Damac in 2017 for the construction of 1,296 villas.

China State is already working for Damac on a tower project on Sheikh Zayed Road.

In February, it was awarded the estimated AED600m contract to build one of the towers at the Aykon City development in Dubai.

The contract covers main works construction for a 53-storey serviced apartment tower. The tower includes two basements, a ground floor and 10 podium levels, a dedicated lifestyle and entertainment level, 53 residential floors and a rooftop.
