The contract calls for the construction of 'external envelopes' for eight out of 23 stations along the red line which will run from Rashidiya to Jebel Ali. The works also include constructing entrances, walkways, bridges and shading for car parks.
The company expects to be awarded contracts worth $80-$100m for other auxiliary structures on the red line.
The red line is scheduled to start operation of 9 September 2009. The Durl Consortium is building the red and green lines. The client is the Roads & Transport Authority (MEED 5:3:08).
