The office, which will be staffed by two or three people, will explore market opportunities for the company.
“We are looking to take advantage of Libya’s large oil and gas exploration programme to expand our own operations in the country,” Bai Mingli, an executive manager at the company, told MEED at the Projex energy and infrastructure exhibition in Tripoli on 10 December.
SKPEC, part of China’s Kerui Group, specialises in the design and manufacture of drilling equipment and providing oilfield engineering services.
The company has already sold drilling equipment to the Libyan market, and international markets including Sudan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
