The two 600-bed facilities will be operational by the end of 2019
China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC) has signed a $530.85m agreement with Kuwaits Health Insurance Company (Dhaman) to build two new hospitals.
According to state news agency KUNA, the two 600-bed facilities will be operational by the end of 2019 and MCC would carry out design, construction, equipping and maintenance work.
The hospitals will be built in the Jahra and Ahmadi governorates of the country.
The government also aims to complete the Sabah Hospital project by August 2018 and build two new hospitals in Adan and Farwaniya with completion deadline of June and December 2019, respectively.
The projects are part of a plan by the Ministry of Health to expand nine hospitals to improve the provision of public health services in Kuwait.
