Chinese start work on Emirates road contract

Beijing-based China State Construction & Engineering Corporation has started work on the AED938m ($255m) contract to widen Emirates road in Dubai.

The project involves increasing the number of lanes on Emirates road to accommodate more traffic between Arabian Ranches and the Green Community junction.

The other bidders were Japan's Taisei Corporation and the local Emirates Road Contracting.

The consultant is US-based Parsons Corporation. The client is the Roads & Transport Authority (MEED 1:6:08).
