01 July 2008
Tenders for the remaining construction packages at the King Abdullah International Gardens project will be issued in November.

Work is already under way on the first phase of the scheme, which includes the earthworks and fencing of the site.

The $200m project, near Riyadh on the highway to Mecca, is being carried out in three phases and should be completed in three years.

The local Omrania & Associates is the project manager. It is working in collaboration with the UK landscape-design firm Barton Willmore.

Riyadh Municipality is the client.
