Dubai-based Kleindienst Group has started construction work on its Heart of Europe development on the World islands in Dubai.

The Kleindienst Group, which is developing the project, says it has begun construction work, with the local Foundation Construction Group working on the site preparation for the scheme. This involves vibro-compaction, which prevents subsidence on the island.

The World’s master developer, the local Nakheel, was planning to build a resort known as Coral Island on the continent of North America. It was close to awarding construction contracts in 2008, but the project is now on hold.
