Contractor has started the enabling works

Construction work has restarted on Muzoon Holding’s Esplanade project in the Al-Barsha area of Dubai next to Mall of the Emirates.

The local Modern Executive Systems Contracting (MESC) is working on an enabling works contract for the mixed-used development. The consultant is the local Arif & Bintoak Consulting Architects & Engineers.

Work first began on the development in 2007 and 2008 before Dubai’s property market crashed. The project was put on hold in 2009.

The local/Turkish Al-Habtoor STFA Soil Group had completed the excavation works, which were later filled in leaving a vacant lot.

Al-Habtoor secures Esplanade contract

The local Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises has been awarded the AED1.55bn ($422m) contract to build the Esplanade development in Dubai.

Located in Al-Barsha behind Mall of the Emirates, the project involves the construction of five residential towers, two five-star hotels, one commercial tower, one tower featuring a health club and spa, a car park and a podium. Construction will start in June and completion is expected by June 2011. Read more
