Consultants bid to manage Bahrain housing projects

Saudi-based firms compete to project manage construction work at three sites

The Ministry of Housing has received bids from consultants for the project management and site supervision of three projects in Bahrain.

The housing and infrastructure projects, which are being funding with Saudi Development Fund (SDF) support are at Ramli, Qalali, and Wadi al-Sail.

The lowest bids was submitted by Saudi Arabia’s Al-Teraz Achitecture Design with a price of about SR12m ($3.2m) or about BD1.2m.

Saudi Arabia’s Dar Engineering submitted the second lowest offer with a price of about BD1.4m. The other bidders are Saudi Consulting Services with an offer of BD1.8bn, and Saudi Arabia’s Khalid Faqih & Projects joint venture with two offers are SR21.7m and SR27.9m.

There were two offers that were suspended.

In January, the Ministry of Housing signed contracts totalling BD56.7m with the SDF for the construction of 1,265 units at Ramli. The contracts were awarded to Al-Mezeal Construction & Services, Luqman al-Haddad Construction Company, Mohammed Saif Ajlan al-Mannai and Al-Nisr Construction Company.

The Ministry of Housing is seeking contractors for other upcoming projects in the kingdom. Contractors have been invited to submit prequalification documents by 9 May for the construction of apartment buildings, by 16 May for infrastructure work, and 2 May for building houses.
