Dubai’s consumer confidence grew during the last quarter of 2011 says the emirate’s Department of Economic Development.

The department’s quarterly Consumer Confidence Index grew by 15 points to 125 during a three-month period as Dubai’s economy showed anecdotal signs of a recovery after Ramadan, which ended in August.

The CCI is based on consumer responses to local job prospects, personal finances and suitability of making purchases, over the coming year. The department says the number of consumers optimistic of an economic recovery over the next 12 months increased by 22 per cent in the fourth quarter, while 79 per cent of consumers had a positive outlook on personal finance and 70 per cent expect the job market to improve.
