The Palestinian Energy Authority is planning to award by mid-August an estimated $16 million contract to supply electricity distribution equipment and transformers. At least seven companies have submitted bids for the project, known as Assistance to the Energy Sector in the Palestinian Territory phase IV. Norway and Sweden are co-financing the project. The contract includes the supply and delivery of feeder pillars, disconnectors, switches, autoclosures, underground and overhead cables and lighting arresters. The equipment will be delivered to central stations in Tulkarem and Gaza over three-six months. Further phases to develop the network are expected.
