Abu Dhabi government-controllled Mubadala Development Company has selected the local/Australian Al-Habtoor Leighton Group for the estimated AED600m ($163m) contract to build the Arzanah Medical Complex on Abu Dhabi Island.
Contractors submitted bids in mid-February.The other bidders included the local Al-Faraa General Contracting Company, the local Arabtec Construction, and Germany’s Ed Zueblin.
Arzanah is a 1.4-square-kilometre, mixed-use development planned for the area surrounding Zayed Sports City on Abu Dhabi Island, close to Khaleej al-Arabi road and the Hudayriat channel.
The wider development will include residential, commercial, sports and leisure accommodation. It is being developed by Capitala, which is a joint venture between the Mubadala and Singapore-based developer Capitaland (MEED 16:2:10).
The project manager is Canada’s Ellisdon.
The Arzanah Medical Complex will house three specialist health centres. They are the Wooridul Spine Centre, the Abu Dhabi Knee and Sports Medicine Centre and a state-of-the-art wellness and diagnostic center developed by Mubadala in partnership with Singapore’s AsiaMedic Group.
