Contractor wins Dubai road construction deal

Contract was tendered in the second half of 2016

China State Construction Engineering Corporation has been awarded the contract for the improvement of the Parallel Roads in Dubai.

The Chinese contractor was the lowest bidder for the project last year when it submitted a price of AED793m ($216m).

The other bidders were the local Emirates Road Contracting (ERC), the local/Belgian Belhasa Six Construct, India’s Larsen & Toubro, and Turkey’s Gunal Mapa.

The consultant for the project is US-based Parsons.

The RTA received bids for a series of major road construction contracts in Dubai.
