The local HBK Contracting has been awarded the estimated QR1.5bn ($412m) contract to build a twin-tower hotel project for local developer Katara Hospitality.

The Katara Towers project is located in the Lusail City area to the north of Doha and will be part of the Lusail Marina Iconic Development.

The 32-month construction contract involves building 270,000-square-metres of residential, hospitality space. Once complete, there will be 505 hotel rooms and 49 apartments.

HBK completed the QR193m substructure package in 2016.

Lebanon’s Dar al-Handasah is the consultant.
