The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has awarded the joint venture of Lebanon’s Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) and the local Teyseer Contracting the estimated $450m contract to upgrade Mesaimeer Road.
The contract involves the upgrade of 4.2 kilometres of Mesaimeer Road in Doha from three lanes to four lanes, the construction of intersections connecting Bu Hamour Street, Haloul Street and Salwa Road, four pedestrian bridges, and a central viaduct.
The project management consultant for the scheme is the US’ KBR.
Last year, Ashghal awarded the CCC/Teyseer joint venture a $774m contract to design and build a section of the highway, known as Al-Bustan Street North.
Also last year, Ashghal awarded South Korea’s Hyundai Engineering & Construction the estimated $434m contract for construction work on Al-Bustan Street.
The 37-month contract involves expanding the existing 2.88 kilometre-long, six-lane Al-Bustan Street into an eight-lane highway.
