The contract involves the construction of villas and townhouses, together with retail and commercial space, community buildings, utilities, canals and marinas covering an area of two square kilometres.
Madinat al-Arab covers an area of 81 square kilometres and is located 35 kilometres southwest of Dubai close to the Abu Dhabi border. Dubai Waterfront is expected to have a population of 1.7 million people by 2020 (MEED 9:11:07).
