Contractors line up for Adco complex

Ten local and international contractors have been prequalified to bid for two packages on the new office complex planned by Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (Adco - MEED 13:9:02).

Called the Adco compound development phases 4 and 5, the project will be tendered in two packages. Package 1 will cover the construction of a 24-storey office tower, mosque, services building, multi-storey car park, landscaping, roads and related works. It is expected to be issued for bid by the end of December.

Package 2 will cover the construction of recreational facilities, including a restaurant, kitchen, medical clinic, car park, indoor sports hall, swimming pools, tennis and squash courts and related works. The package is expected to be issued for bid in early 2003.

Both packages are estimated to be worth a total of at least AED 110 million ($30 million) and will take 14-16 months to complete. The compound will be located at the existing Adco headquarters complex on the Abu Dhabi corniche. The consultant is the local Engineering Consultants Group.
