Oman’s Ministry of Justice has received bids for two construction contracts to build new court premises at Nizwa and Rustaq.

The ministry received the bids for the projects on the 29 March, documents seen by MEED show.

The same five contractors submitted bids for both projects.

The local Galfar Engineering & Contracting group submitted the lowest bid for the contract to build a regional Preliminary & Appeal Court in Nizwa with a price of OR10m ($26m). This was 2 per cent better than the second lowest bid of OR10.2m submitted by the local/UK Douglas OHI group.

Galfar was also the lowest bidder for the contract to build a regional Preliminary & Appeal Court at Rustaq. The company’s bid of OR10.16m ($26.4m) was 0.5 per cent lower than the OR10.21m submitted by Douglas OHI.

Other bidders the contracts included the local Abu Hatim Company, India-based Larsen & Toubro, and the local/UK Carillion Alawi.
