Gasco is auditing shortlisted bidders for the system
Abu Dhabi Gas Industries (Gasco) has received commercial bids for the construction of an acid flare gas system at the Habshan gas processing and distribution hub in Abu Dhabi.
A total of six contractors have submitted bids for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, said to be valued at about $50m-$60m.
The bidders are the local Alsa Engineering, Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), Pakistan’s Descon, UAE-based Dodsal, India’s Punj Lloyd, and France’s Technip.
Gasco is currently auditing the contractors, according to a source at a bidding company. The company has already received one visit from Gasco and will be audited again in the coming days.
“They are probably going to further reduce the shortlist,” says the source.
After two extensions to the deadline, technical bids were submitted in June. Australia’s WorleyParsons have been awarded the front-end engineering and design (feed) contract. Tebodin of the Netherlands has been tasked with the project management consultancy (MEED 8:4:11).
The scheme is part of a series of Gasco projects at its Habshan gas processing and distribution hub in recent years.
