Project includes work on the sixth and seventh ring roads

The Public Works Ministry has received bids for the road building contract on the sixth and seventh ring roads in Kuwait City.

The low bidder is the local Burhan International Contracting Company with a price of KD17m ($59m). The other bidders include the local United Gulf Construction Company (UGCC) and the local Al-Dar Engineering & Construction Company.

The contract involves the construction, completion and maintenance of new intersections on the sixth and seventh ring roads serving local areas.

In November the Kuwait’s Central Tenders Committee (CTC) has approved the award of a KD31m ($108m) contract to the local Mohammed Abdulmohsin al-Kharafi & Sons for a contract to build intersections on the sixth ring road serving the Jahra residential area, west of Kuwait City (MEED 1:11:09).

CTC approval is the final step before a formal contract award is made.

The Public Works Ministry is the client.
