Contracts awarded for electrical works

The local Al-Meer Technical Services Company has been awarded three contracts worth KD 13.4 million ($43 million) in total to carry out maintenance and construction work in the local oil sector. The largest is a KD 5.9 million ($19 million) order to carry out electrical maintenance works at the Mina al-Ahmadi oil refinery over a five-year period. The client is Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC).

KNPC has also awarded Al-Meer a KD 5.3 ($17 million) contract for the construction of a new central control room for the electrical and mechanical systems of the Shuaiba refinery. The 22-month contract includes some demolition work.

The third contract, worth an estimated KD 2.2 million ($7.1 million), has been let by Kuwait Oil Company. It involves the expansion of flow line headers and joints at gathering centres 15 and 23 in the north of the country.
