Daelim closes in on Burgan effluent disposal contract

Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has approved the award of a KD 61.9 million ($199 million) contract to South Korea's Daelim Engineers & Construction Company for the new effluent disposal project in southwest Kuwait. A contract signing is expected soon (MEED 26:7:02; 25:1:02).

The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract calls for the supply and installation of two effluent water plants and related facilities at the onshore Burgan and Maqwa oil fields. The new facilities will take 22 months to be installed.

The consultant is the US' Parsons Engineering Corporation, which also carried out the front-end engineering and design (FEED) package (MEED 10:8:01).
