Biography: Daij bin Salman al-Khalifa is the undersecretary for ports affairs at Bahrain’s Finance Ministry and also the chairman of the board for the General Organisation of Sea Ports, the body responsible for developing and regulating the country’s maritime and logistics zone industries.
Previously, Al-Khalifa was president of Bahrain Customs from March 2006 until June 2008. Prior to this, he was assistant undersecretary for foreign trade at the Industry and Commerce Ministry. Al-Khalifa has sat on the board of several companies, including being the chairman of Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company, chairman of Bahrain Airport Company and board member of the King Fahd Causeway Authority.
Al-Khalifa has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the American University in the US.
