Damac awards enabling works for marina project

15 July 2008
Turkish company Zetas Foundation Technology has been awarded the enabling works for the 98-storey Damac Heights project in Dubai Marina.

Work will begin this month with completion expected in June 2009. The contract is valued at AED48m ($13m).

The tower will feature penthouses and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. It will also feature health clubs, a gym and a swimming pool.

Dubai-based Damac Properties is the client.

The firm is developing a number of properties in the emirate and internationally, including a multibillion-dollar development in Gamsha Bay in Egypt. UK-based Halcrow completed the initial masterplan for the 30 square kilometre development and Damac is now in negotiations with a new international design team to expand the scope of the project (MEED 15:12:06).
