Daman tenders for buildings

Prequalified companies have been invited to bid by 17 October for the main construction package on the estimated $450 million Buildings by Daman project in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The prequalifiers include the local/Lebanese Arabian Construction Company, the local Arabtec Construction, the local/Australian Nasa Multiplex and Saudi Oger.
The contract calls for the construction of a mixed-use residential and commercial complex consisting of two towers: a 64-storey residential, hotel and serviced apartment tower; and a 14-storey office and retail tower. Surrounded by gardens and water features, the two buildings will have a total built-up area of 285,000 square metres.

US-based Hill International is the project manager, Perkins & Will, also of the US, is the architect. Daman Real Estate Capital Partners, part of Daman Asset Management is the client (MEED 9:6:06)

The project is the latest in DIFC to go to bid. In June Peremba Construction (PECD) was awarded the estimated AED 400 million ($109 million) main construction package on a twin-tower development for the local real estate developer Al-Fattan Properties. In January the French/local joint venture (JV) of Bouygues Batiment International and Target Engineering Construction Company was awarded the estimated AED 1,000 ($275 million) main contract for the Ritz Carlton hotel for local developer Union Properties (MEED 2:6:06; 20:1:06).
