Damascus launches three substation tenders

The Public Establishment for Distribution & Exploitation of Electrical Energy issued on 10 July tenders for three turnkey contracts to design and install 25 66/20-kV substations in six different regions.

The three tenders are:

Tender 255/A Ten substations for the Damascus suburbs and southern region. Three must be delivered after 16 months, a further three after 18 months and the final four by 20 months. Support machinery should be supplied within six months. A bid bond of $500,000 must accompany the bids, which are due to be submitted by 23 October.

Tender 255/B Nine 66/20-kV substations for the Aleppo governorate and middle region. The first three substations are required after 16 months, with supporting machinery in the first six months. Three more stations are required after 18 months and the final three are required after 20 months. Bids for the Aleppo package are to be submitted by 16 October, accompanied by a bid bond of $450,000.

Tender 255/CThe design and supply of six 66/20-kV substations for the eastern and northern regions. Three substations and the support machinery for all six stations must be delivered in the first six months of the contract. The remaining three substations must be supplied within the next 12 months. A $300,000 bond must be included with the bids, which are to be submitted by 9 October.

The three packages are funded by a Eur 150 million ($169 million) loan from the European Investment Bank.
