Contractors given more time to bid for Abu Dhabi scheme

Kuwait-based Dar al-Dhabi Real Estate Company has extended the tender closing date for the main building contract on its Najmat Abu Dhabi mixed-use development on Reem island in Abu Dhabi to 30 September.

The original closing date was 16 August.

The project involves the construction of two mid-rise towers of about 30 floors in height and two low-rise buildings of about seven floors each.

The prospective bidders include the local Al-Shafar General Contracting Company, the local/Lebanese Arabian Construction Company (ACC), China’s Beijing Construction; the local National Projects Construction (NPC) with UK-based Wright Construction, and the local Seidco General Contracting.

Dar al-Dhabi Real Estate Company previously approached contractors to build the scheme together with two 81-floor residential towers on an adjacent plot. The client will now tender those towers at a later date, once the designs are complete.

The consultant is the Abu Dhabi office of KEO International Consultants.
