A key person driving the development of Oman’s tourism sector

Biography: David McCann is the managing director of the Oman branch of the Danish engineering firm Cowi & Partners.
The firm is providing engineering consultancy and project management services on a number of the sultanate’s major tourism projects. Cowi was also recently awarded a contract to supervise and manage the construction of Omran’s new hotel resort in Duqm.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the UK’s University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in 1989, McCann worked in a number of engineering roles in the UK until his first position abroad in 1997. McCann worked as a senior engineer for Alrabiah Cowi in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, from 1997-99 and then as regional manager in Jeddah from 1999 to 2001.
In 2001, McCann moved to Oman to take up his current position.
