Biography: David McCarron’s role at Intel includes defining custom technology solutions and working with governments and customers in developed and emerging markets to improve healthcare by connecting people and information.
Recently, McCarron has focused on m-health solutions. He graduated with a degree in information systems management in 1997 from Bournemouth University in the UK. McCarron began his career as an e-business programme manager at Dell in 1998, moving to a similar role at Worldcom International in 2000. A year later, McCarron joined Intel as a technical project manager.
He became the firm’s healthcare technical account manager in 2004, consulting with the UK’s NHS on mobile-point-of-care solutions, location-based services, virtualisation and enterprise desktop management.
