Companies asked to submit bids on KNPC scheme by 12 July
Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has extended the deadline for companies to bid on sulphur treatment facilities at its Mina al-Ahmadi refinery.
KNPC tendered the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract in late April, setting a bid deadline for 19 June. This has now been extended to 12 July.
The project will include:
- Liquid sulphur storage tanks
- Liquid sulhur feed pumps
- Granulator units
- Belt conveyor system
- Longitudinal stockyard for solid sulphur
- Stacking machine
- Reclaiming machine
- Ship loader
- Associated facilities
The new project is connected to a previous contract to upgrade the solid sulphur-handling and ship-loading facilities at Mina al-Ahmadi, which was won by South Koreas Daelim in 2013. The contract won by Daelim had a value of $519m.
