The two groups signed a memorandum of understanding that will see a logistics area developed at the zone, featuring warehouses, offices and retail space.
Edamah will design, build and commission the facilities, which are scheduled to open by the end of the year.
The basic infrastructure of the zone being built by the Works Ministry is almost complete, including roads, utilities and telecommunications networks.
When complete, the site will be integrated with Bahrain’s Khalifa bin Salman port, which will have a container capacity of 2.5 million 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
