Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has recorded a 5.6% increase in the annual electricity peak load in Dubai as of June 2010. The annual electricity peak load in Dubai rose by 5938 MW as of June 2010, compared with 5622 MW total annual peak load for 2009. "These increases are likely to escalate this summer with the rise of high temperatures. The continued increase in demand for water and electricity in Dubai is a sign for economic recovery," Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of Dewa said in a statement.
