Emirates consultant to supervise construction of Al-Khobar office building

UAE-based Dewan Architects & Engineers has been appointed to design and supervise the construction of a 28-floor commercial tower in Al-Khobar.

The tower, on the Khobar-Dammam road, will be built on a plot measuring 2,030 square metres. It will have office space on the upper floors and retail outlets on the ground and mezzanine levels. A car park will be spread across two basement levels and four podium floors.

The client is Amlak Sheikh Abdulrahman and Sheikh Sulayman, of the local Abdullah al-Reziza Group of Companies.

UAE-based consultants and contractors have been looking for work in Saudi Arabia since the start of 2009.

UAE-based contractor Arabtec Construction formed a joint venture company, Arabtec Saudi Arabia, in March 2009, and is now working on projects in Jeddah and Riyadh.

The UAE/Australian Al-Habtoor Leighton Group has also secured work in the kingdom and is working on the Information Technology & Communication Complex on the outskirts of Riyadh (MEED 29:5:09).
