KEO International Consultants to design and manage building work
Property developer Diyar al-Kuwait has appointed Kuwaiti firm KEO International Consultants to design and manage the construction work on an $800m mixed-use development at Lusail in Qatar.
Diyar al-Kuwait’s planned schedule for the project is “aggressive but do-able” according to Dherar al-Nisf, project manager at the developer, with work set to begin on site in late 2010.
Lusail’s master developer, Doha-based Qatari Diar, is currently implementing infrastructure contracts as part of the development.
The part of the project which KEO will be working on includes 160,000 square metres of commercial space, 130,000 sq m of office space and 30,000 sq m for retail. A residential area covers a further 87,000 sq m and comprises 640 apartments as well as 27, four-bedroom townhouses. Two basement car parks will provide 4,070 spaces for residents and visitors.
The project is in the southeastern corner of the Lusail development, known as the Marina District.
Lusail is approximately 20 kilometres from the planned Doha International airport and within a few kilometres of Doha’s West Bay and The Pearl developments.
