Production to be ramped up over coming months after investment programme completed
Norways DNO has doubled capacity at its Tawke field in Iraqi Kurdistan to 200,000 barrels a day (b/d) after a completing an investment programme.
The company has completed 10 horizontal wells and two early production facilities with a combined capacity of 80,000 b/d. A 44-kilometre, 24-inch pipeline has also been constructed.
Production at the Tawke field will now be ramped up to capacity over the next few months. Output now stands at over 150,000 b/d with average production of 105,000 b/d in the first quarter of 2015. Of this about 8,000 b/d was sold into the local market and the rest made available for export.
