Government official says there will be opportunities for the private sector
Developing Qatar’s transport infrastructure is a key government priority, the director of the department of general affairs at the Business & Trade Ministry, Nasser Khodr, told the opening session of the MEED Qatar Transport 2011 Conference in Doha on 7 June.
“The potential for private-sector involvement in transport developments is very large,” Qadr said. He added that plans for the 2022 Fifa World Cup demanded the highest standards of transport infrastructure. In turn, this would be the launch pad for further rapid economic growth.
