The company will be responsible for road construction, water storage facilities and other services. Work is scheduled to begin this month and will take 15 months to complete.

The deal closely follows the contract awarded for the construction of Downtown Al-Areen in Bahrain, which went to the Bahraini contractor Ahmed Mansoor al-Aali Company, in late 2007.

Ahmed Mansour Al-Aali is due to begin building work in the first quarter of 2008. The Kuwaiti-based Gulf Holding Company is the client (MEED 17:12:07).

UK company Atkins is the main designer of the 260,000 square metre development.
