The firm has been awarded the full mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) contract for two sites on the island: Rotana Resort and Centro by Rotana.

The scope of works covers the installation, testing and commissioning for air conditioning works as well as power distribution, plumbing and drainage, and fire fighting systems. Drake & Scull will also supply and install security systems.

Rotana Resort will feature 308 rooms and suites, as well as conference and banqueting facilities. It is expected to open in July 2009. Centro is Rotana’s budget brand and will offer 259 rooms, with an opening also expected in 2009.
