Local branch of UAE firm will fit out administration complex
Drake & Scull Qatar, a wholly owned subsidiary of UAE-based Drake & Scull International (DSI), has been awarded a QR125m ($34.4m) mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) contract for the first phase of Qatar Petroleum’s Multipurpose Administration Complex at Ras Laffan Industrial City by Qatar Petroleum (QP).
The MEP work will include fit outs for a medical centre, office, canteen and central plant at the Ras Laffan project, which is located about 70 kilometres north of Doha.
Drake & Scull is expected to finish the MEP work by August 2013.
Drake & Scull Qatar was established in 2006 and has completed a number of MEP projects in recent years. These include the Four Seasons hotel and Qtel headquarters projects, both located in the West Bay Complex in Doha. The firm has also undertaken design and build contracts for two district cooling plans for the Msheireb mixed-use development in Doha.
