Farid Faraidooni, chief commercial director for Du has said the firm will launch a Skype-alternative service to allow users to make cheap international calls through the internet, Khaleej Times has reported. He said the different tariffs will be available, based on the subscription of the customer, with full details of the new service to be unveiled in the next two months. The announcement comes after the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) relaxed several important restrictions on VoIP in March, allowing the country's two telecom companies to begin providing the popular service.
