Contract represents 2.5 per cent of the total project budget
Dubai International Real Estate (DIRE) has awarded a contract worth in excess of AED100m ($27m) to Dubai-based Gulf Business Machines (GBM) for the information and communications technology (ICT) package of the Jewel of the Creek development.
The scope of the contract includes:
- Wired and wireless Local area network (LAN) equipment
- Internet protocol (IP) telephony
- Structured cabling
- Guest room management system
- Access control and
- Audio/video systems
Most of these packages will be utilising devices manufactured by the US Cisco Systems.
The ICT package represents 2.5 per cent of the total project budget of AED4bn.
The contract calls for GBM - key partner for both Cisco and IBM in the region - to supply, install, test and commission the entire ICT package for the five hospitality buildings in the project.
The Jewel of the Creek development is spread over 123,000 square meters and is located in Deira, strategically bound by the Al-Maktoum Bridge, Baniyas Road, Floating Bridge and Dubai Creek.
The hospitality buildings are expected to be completed in September 2017.
