The AED300m ($81.7m) contract to build the bridge connecting the Palm Deira to mainland Dubai has been awarded to Bel Hasa Six Construct, a joint venture with a Belgian company.
The bridge will be 400m long with six lanes in each direction.
Parsons International, a US company, is the consultant.
Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority is the client.
A Franco-Dutch consortium is working on the integrated transport masterplan for the project.
The consortium, called Out and About in Palm Deira, was awarded the contract by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority and property developer Nakheel.
The group includes the Dutch architects and urban planning firm Royal Haskoning, alongside transport consultant MVA, rail consultant Systra, and maritime consultant Sogreah, all of which are French (MEED 17:8:07).
