Belhasa Projects will build water transmission network in Umm al-Quwain

The UAE’s Federal Electricity and Water Authority (Fewa) has awarded a AED60m ($16.3m) contract to the local Belhasa Projects to build a water transmission network in the city of Umm al-Quwain.

The network will comprise a series of water distribution pipes of 600 and 800 millimetre in diameter. The pipeline route will run a total of 30 kilometres and will surround the entire city.

This is Belhasa Projects’ first contract with Fewa. The contract covers all aspects of the project from design to installation and commissioning. Commissioning is due to take place in 15 months.

Demand for water for residential, commercial and industrial uses is increasing in Umm al-Quwain. The new network will help Fewa meet future demand.
