Dubai bourse turns early losses into profits

The DFM benchmark Index ended 0.19% higher at 1,689.71 thanks to a turnaround two hours ahead of the closing. Shares of construction firm Arabtec (up 4.98% at Dhs2.11) benefitted from news released Monday, that its Saudi subsidiary received a letter of intent to build 5,000 homes worth SR5bn for Saudi Binladin Group in KSA. Shuaa Capital declined 1.80% to finish at Dhs1.09. Traded value and volumes jumped 150% to Dhs313.39 as 161.6m shares changed hands.
