Dubai delays bid deadline for substation

20 December 2011

Substation will serve Hassyan 1 independent power project

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has extended the deadline for bids to install a 400kV substation at Hassyan.

Companies have until 15 January 2012 to submit bids, instead of 13 December. The deadline has been extended several times from the original deadline of 11 September.

The winning bidder will supply, install, test and commission a 400kV substation at Hassyan, the site that will host the emirate’s first independent power project (IPP).

Bids for Hassyan 1 IPP, which will be served by the substation, have been submitted. The first phase of the project will have a capacity of 1,500MW and is to be followed by five or six more IPPs at the site (MEED 12:12:11).
