Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that ferry services across the creek and along the beaches are set for launch by 2011, Khaleej Times has reported. The service, which was originally planned for this year but had to be postponed due to the global economic downturn, would ferry passengers from across the city through 40 stations being planned along different beaches and the creek.
