Hotel occupancy in Dubai fell 14% in the third quarter compared to the same period a year earlier, according to the emirate's Department of Tourism. The occupancy rate for hotel beds dropped to 75.2% from 83.1% a year earlier, while the number of guests-nights in hotels fell 3.5%. However, the number of hotel rooms available grew 13.3%, and the number of beds rose 9.9%.
